The Big Splash Organising Committee members who successfully completed the WorldHost Ambassador training programme were presented with their certificates by Mr Johnny O’Neill, Director, Portglenone Enterprise Group.

The training was provided in preparation for The Big Splash Festival which is being held in Portglenone during the period 16th to 22nd July 2017.

Volunteers considered how best to showcase the village, provide a warm welcome and impeccable customer service, go the extra mile and leave a lasting impression with visitors and tourists.

A celebratory event for successful participants of a Tourism NI Year of Food and Drink training programme took place in Belfast last week, hosted by a high profile food critic and attended by around 50 people.

The WorldHost ‘Sales Powered by Service’ programme saw 80 industry professionals trained in customer service skills tailored specifically for the Year of Food and Drink and aimed ultimately at boosting businesses’ bottom line. Over 30 of the programme’s successful participants attended the celebratory lunch at The Merchant Hotel last Monday (9 May) to be presented with their certificates by Charles Campion. The leading food writer and critic addressed the gathering on the importance of food provenance and its added value to customer service, just one of the topics covered in the training.

8 voluntary service professionals in Greyabbey have joined an army of over one million WorldHost accredited service providers worldwide in committing to the delivery of world class customer service excellence in the village.

The 8 local men and women from Greyabbey Community Association, all successfully completed the globally renowned full day accredited WorldHost Principles of Customer Service training programme and personally signed individual commitments to delivering service excellence to visitors of Greyabbey. 

On completing the training, which was delivered by local Chartered Marketer and Licensed WorldHost trainer Christine Watson of Watson & Co. Chartered Marketing at Trinity Presbyterian church last week, Sue Newell, Chair of Greyabbey and District Community Association commented:

Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Jonathan Bell has congratulated Glenarm on achieving WorldHost Village status.

The award is made to towns or villages where at least 25% of businesses have achieved WorldHost Recognition by delivering excellent customer service and which have trained 50% or more of their front-line staff using any of the WorldHost training programmes.
